TAKE ADVANTAGE OF A $20 REBATE ON TOPAX GIGAPIXEL AI V6.1 THROUGH JUNE 3
Many of these little sub 250g drones such as the infamous line of DJI Mini drones only have 12-megapixel sensors. In real life, it’s usually enough for social media sharing. I’ve always been a fan of enhancing my small drone images using tools from Topaz Labs such as Sharpen AI and Denoise AI. The new DJI Mini 3 Pro does offer 48mp images and the Autel Robotics Nano is up to 50mp. More professional drones such as the prosumer DJI AIR 2S and the Pro grade DJI Mavic 3 offers enhanced quality images with a 1-inch and a Micro 4/3 sensor at the native 20mp.
I’ve had to shoot with the DJI Mini 2 in some scenarios due to regulations and even flying indoors for some real-estate shoots. Once in a while, someone falls in love with the image and wants to order a larger size. Same with the AIR 2s or the Mavic 3, 20mp is sometimes just not big enough. That’s when you need Gigapixel AI!
I’ve found myself enlarging RAW images with Camera RAW, honestly, I’ve never been satisfied with the results. That’s when I decided to try Topaz Labs Gigapixel AI! What impressed me the most was not only did it do a better job than Camera Raw, I got better results from JPG images than I did with RAW files in PhotoShop!
Since I first tried Gigapixel AI, the product has much evolved, it now has an enhanced Face Recovery AI that further enhances the faces of people in your images through the enlargement process.
Lucky for you, Topaz Labs has sample images you can try out for yourself by downloading their trial version of Gigapixel AI. Even better, try it out on your own drone images!
